CU of the generator in operation. Interior MS of morse sender at work - he wears earphones.II. 'THE THAMES IN FLOOD. The enormous rainfall has flooded the Thames Valley, making the roads in some districts, impassable for traffic.' MS of man riding a horse and a horse pulling a two-wheeled cart along a flooded road. More wagons follow. A covered wagon bearing the legend 'PARIPAN LONDON & EGHAM' passes by. Another trader's wagon goes past.III. 'WORKING UNDER DIFFICULTIES. Blind soldiers at St. Dunstan's are developing the sense of touch to replace their lost sight, and are enabled thereby to make themselves efficient carpenters.' MS and CU as a blind man planes a piece of wood. Others saw.IV. 'THE ROYAL CATTLE FARMS. Miss Maxfield and the Misses Hobson who are working on the Royal Farm at Sandringham and taking the place of men in tending the King's Cattle.' Land Army girls at work - one forks turnips into a processor, others take away the resulting shredded animal feed in baskets - the device is clearly hand-cranked but this intermediate operation has been cut. One of the girls releases the cattle from their stalls while another brings up fresh hay 'GIRL FARMERS AT SANDRINGHAM. Cutting up turnips, cleaning out stalls, feeding pigs, driving up cows and milking them, all part of the work which has to be carried out every day including Sundays.' Girl carries a large pitchforkful of hay into cattle stalls while another rakes out the old material. A basket of feed is carried in. Girl opens gate for pigs. Two women drive cattle along a road towards the camera.
